Found this page near to the back of my new NIV bible, funny how it says to read in context and apply in our context, and even praising and confessing in our prayers, in response to what the implications remind us individually about...lol, not just a coincidence with how we've learnt to read the bible ah..
Unheard of? Or just that we sometimes do forget and read it like an almanac anyway..?
Talking to a non-christian friend of mine today, and he knows too, abt the importance of reading texts in their context (though it was in reference to the quran initially...lol), can only hope and pray that somehow the opportunities will arise for him to read the good news properly, and that he'll be convicted too, as everyone goes through school together..though he's surely more knowledgeable abt things than I am, hope to be able to talk abt things that are truly important in the end too
And, but of course, he's a really a great guy to have as a friend! =)
